Some times I look at this blog

Nicole C. Mullen at Women of Faith

...and I wonder where the new reading material is. Oh yeah, I have to write it!

We had a busy weekend. Our final CBS sharing went well. Lots of class members came, the food was great and we had some closure on our intense study. I miss Isaiah already. I think I may just browse, peruse and lounge in Isaiah for the summer.

The women of faith conference was good. The best part was the company--some women I knew from school invited me along and it was great to get to know them better. However, let me say that Nicole C. Mullen is an excellent artist with a heart for God that shows up in powerful, practical ways, Luci Swindoll is a fabulous teacher and Sandi Patty still has one of the most incredible voices I will ever hear.

Joe's brother and cousin were visiting for the weekend, so we had some family meals (the kids did an EXCELLENT job cooking!) and some good chats, and another lamb cake. This one, although yummy, revealed some issues we still have to resolve. How much pound cake will we have to eat before we figure it out?

We had a good day Sunday. Joe was off and went to both the regular church service and a special evening program with us. Taylor also had a band concert that afternoon.

And yesterday was family stamping day. Ruth and I went to Allyson's and had good food, good conversations and made really cute cards.

Tonight Laurel has a band concert--she and some other percussion members are going to do a trashcan number. They're very good--I saw them perform it at a contest. If my talented family will help, I'll try to get it on here.

Busy, busy, busy. That's us.

An update: the trashcan video did not turn out well because the kids performed with the cans on the floor instead of the stage and we couldn't see them. It did sound great!

However, the two band directors presented an award at the end of the evening for the 7th grade outstanding band member: Laurel! She got ones on her competition numbers and helps set up and put away all the percussion instruments and she even knows the combination for the instrument closet! Yea, Laurel!

Congratulations, Laurel!! Too bad we can't see the video of the trashcan number, though.

How do you know the combination of the instrument closet? Did you figure it out, or are you the one that is trusted with it? Probably the second reason, right? Good for you!
